Video Chat Help

We’re excited to offer live video and voice chat in our games. Should you have trouble using the feature, try the following suggestions.

If you’re getting an error that says “You must allow use of…” see our Video Permissions Help.

Restart Video

This helps if video was working, but now you can’t see or can’t hear someone.

  1. Click your player name
  2. Click “Stop Video”
  3. Click your player name again
  4. Click “Add Video”
  5. Click “Add” in the Add Video panel

Restart Your Camera

Try this if you have a separate webcam, but it isn’t working or you get a message that it wasn’t found.

  1. Unplug the webcam
  2. Plug the webcam back in

Check Device Volume

If you can’t hear the others in the game, check your device volume to make sure it’s not muted or too low. If you’re using a device with a Silent mode, ensure it is not on.

Select Different Device

Try this if you have more than one camera or microphone and video chat is choosing the wrong camera or microphone.

  1. Click your player name
  2. Click “Video” Settings
  3. Under the Camera label, select your preferred camera
  4. Under the Microphone label, select your preferred microphone

Switch to WiFi

Try this if you’re on a phone. Sometimes cellular networks have too weak of a signal to keep video chat running. Connecting to a local wireless network can help.

Disable WiFi

Sometimes WiFi has too much interference to keep video chat running. Moving closer to the router or switching to a wired/cellular network can help.

Restart Your App

If the above doesn’t help, try closing then re-opening your app or browser. If you don’t know how, skip to Restart Your Device.

Restart Your Device

Rebooting your phone or computer can be surprisingly effective, especially if video isn’t working at all and nothing else has helped.

If none of these suggestions help, send feedback.
